David Rasmussen, the principal of The Alexander Companies LLC, has been involved with every facet of real estate ownership, investment and financing.
He is very familiar with troubled asset situations and every form of securitized and non-securitized debt. He has negotiated many distressed loan situations
» In 1983 he started buying apartments for his own account and later completed his first syndication. He has developed new apartment complexes and alone or with partners, has owned over 3,000 units in over twenty-five buildings or complexes.
» In January 1987, he joined the Chicago office of Marcus & Millichap, a national investment real estate brokerage firm and was a top-selling agent for two consecutive quarters
» In 1996 he began developing new high-end homes and in-fill subdivisions and completed and sold homes ranging in price up to $2,500,000
» In 1998 Mr. Rasmussen began developing affordable housing using tax-exempt bonds and tax credits. He developed over 500 affordable housing units and is familiar with multi-tiered financing, credit-enhancement, Letters of Credit, and rated financing structures.
» In 2002 he began developing high-end townhomes in Illinois and in Montana. He has also completed a number of subdivisions and has developed land for single-family, townhome, condominium and retail uses and also re-developed and leased commercial properties. He is completely familiar with the subdivision and entitlement process and understands every facet of ground-up development and construction.
» Mr. Rasmussen began his professional career in 1980 by developing CamerArt, Inc., a full-service production company. The company developed and produced corporate meeting and advertising media for client rosters that included McDonalds Corp., Leo Burnett Advertising, United States Gypsum, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
» Mr. Rasmussen received his B.A. in Journalism graduating Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University. He has been fluent in a number of foreign languages including Russian, Serbian, French, Croatian, Bosnian and German. He did advanced study at:
